For over 20 years, Helena SurgiCenter has been at the heart of the health and well-being of our community. As a leading multi-specialty ambulatory surgery center, we focus on providing a safe, convenient, cost-effective, and high quality alternative to inpatient hospital care.

Helena SurgiCenter first opened in October of 1998 by local physicians who wanted to provide an outstanding outpatient surgical facility for Helena and the greater Montana community. Today, the facility is jointly owned by 14 active Helena surgeons. With over 30 physicians across nine different specialties and a compassionate team of registered nurses, surgical technicians and office staff, Helena SurgiCenter is dedicated to providing superior service and value for patients.

Thanks to technological advances in surgery, 60-70% of today’s surgical procedures can now be performed on an outpatient basis. The advantage of this for patients is that many procedures can now be done in a comfortable, patient-focused environment free from the hassles and expenses often associated with hospital-based care. Lower overall facility fees means lower out-of-pocket costs for most patients compared to a typical hospital-based facility. Patients are also able to be released within hours of surgery to complete their recovery in the comfort of their own home. For surgeons, the facility size and structure allows for more efficient scheduling of patients and less down time between cases.
